Ear Infections in Dogs – Clean Your Dog’s Ears

Robert Cabral Blog, Dog Health Leave a Comment

One of the most common issues I’ve seen in dogs is ear infections.  They can be tough to cure and expensive to treat, but not that hard to prevent.

Countless dogs suffer from minor ear infections that will only get worse if not treated.  Keeping your dog’s ears clean is a super simple step that should be part of your cleaning routine, just like brushing and toe nail trimming.

You can use products like witch hazel and apple cider vinegar, but none are as easy to use and readily available as a can of ear wipes made just for your dog.  AND, they smell fantastic.

I’ve seen dogs become reluctant to be touched on the head when they have chronic ear infections, and that can lead to bites or serious behavioral problems that become a lot of work to fix.  Teach your dogs, better yet puppies, that ear cleaning is part of the procedure.  use lots of treats to reinforce the experience and use a product that is safe for your dog.

NEVER EVER put cotton swabs, such as Q-Tips into your dogs ears.  use a clean cotton ball or cotton makeup square to clean the inside of the ear.

Remember, its not about curing the problem, its ore important to try and prevent the issue before it starts.  EarWell Wipes can do just that.  I LOVE them, use them on my dogs and recommend them.

I found a product that is very easy to use and good for your dog.  EarWell Ear Wipes made by a company called VetWell.  They contain Aloe and Eucalyptus – and most importantly for me, they are made right here in the USA.  I’ve used them on my dogs, as well as myself.  Take a look at this video I made about them.
