Every You Need to Know

I probably receive more questions regarding crate training than most any other topic. I’ve answered hundreds, either in person, on blog posts or in my #askmeanything video section. Still, there are more questions. So I’d like to post this lesson to address more of them here. I do believe crate training is one of the very most important things you’ll ever teach your dog.

THE CRATE

Let’s look at the first most important thing and that will be the actual crate. There are many different types of crate ranging from soft crates, wire crates, travel crates and more. The key thing I look at here is functionality and I believe that the basic wire crate is the most functional for several reasons:

• It’s durable.
• Easy to clean.
• Your dog has perfect visibility.
• It folds up when not in use.
• It’s not expensive.
