This is an AWESOME lesson. I decided to make some of my shelter dog training videos available here for those of you who want to be professional dog trainers and those that want to help shelter dogs. Of course you may have a dog with these issues as well, but I think that is a little less likely.

This lesson contains a lot of information from engagement to basics to dog to dog intros, but the most important aspect in this video is a behavior that often costs shelter dogs their lives: hind end sensitivity. You’ll see when I get into it in the lesson. I can promise you, you won’t find these lessons anywhere else, because either people don’t know how to deal with it, or they don’t want to show it!

This lesson was shot over two separate visits to the shelter. The pivotal part is when you see the volunteer work with Sully on my return visit. Sully learned so much from the first lesson, that lesson two was pretty simple. That is because I didn’t give up, I never let her connect with the bite and I rewarded where the rewards needed to be and blocked the bad behavior. No corrections no punishment!

I sincerely hope that these lessons will help dogs everywhere and I thank all of you for making this work possible!
