  • 1st time at dog park

We took Cindy to a dog park today for the first time. There was one off leash PB mix in the park who immediately came over and stuck its nose in Cindy’s face. Fortunately nothing happened except for scaring the crap out of me. I think Robert has said he carries some sort of stick in case he has to defend his dog.

After that it was a very positive experience. I initially had her on a long line but after the other dog left I replaced it with the e-collar so she could explore the park off leash. Once inside the fenced park she didn’t show any of the anxiety that she normally has when out of the house.

Hmmm I would only go to the dog park when there are not many other dogs there .

Dog parks can be a real shit show . If there is an issue most peeps at the dog parks

Do not what to do . Protect your dog .

Stay with them at all times . And keep an eye out as to what the other dogs are doing

Also . Having said that , when I first got Aspen he had never been off leash his whole life

(4 years) . So I used the dog park as my initial training grounds .
