I have a 5YO GSD intact male. He came from a good breeder but had bad hip dysplasia. He just had his second FHO. We’ll be getting a female GSD 8 wk old puppy in a few weeks. Since my main concern is that I don’t want the male to father puppies since he has bad hips, what is best when considering both dogs – vasectomy for male (I really don’t want to put him thru another surgery though) or OSS for the female. I still have to research what age is good for that.

I have a 9 week old cane corso. She is stubborn. When we are walking on leash she will simply stop and refuse to move while glaring at me and kicking her head back…then jumping. I have trained Shepherds, bullys etc this little dog is stubborn! The issue is that she is almost 20 lbs and growing so I cannot just pick her up readily all the time…So can I prong collar her yet? she knows what she needs to do but is refusing to do it. Great dog otherwise just high energy and Defiant.

How do you manage high value treats and feeding. My dog will skip a meal if I feed one stick of string cheese in a training session.
