Hi Robert, I am going to be having surgery and will be off my feet for several weeks. I am concerned about my dogs care during this time. She is a 6 year old Malinois with a bite history. We lost our home in the Eaton fire and these last two years have been ruff but we are acclimating and grateful for our new residence. I have reached out to a few local dog walkers, but safety is my concern. Her attacks have been on other off leash dogs, and one even in the care of her dog trainer. I have worked hard on calm behavior since then and have not been as open to having her in anyones care but my own.

Car Awareness, My 4yo Staffie-mix is car-dumb. I have a big, fenced front yard with a field gate, and no one can drive in/out without me putting her up because she will just walk right in front of the car and stand there grinning. I’ve never had a dog that was so oblivious to vehicles, and it’s concerning when I take her anywhere that if she were to get loose, she could get herself killed. I live alone, so I don’t have anyone to help with trying to train car avoidance, and I’m not sure how to go about it on my own. Zazz has come so far in 17mo.

My GSD, Chopper has started a behavior where he will not come when called. He runs away from me. He will look straight at me and run the opposite direction. I live on 50 acres. He has now been outside for 6 hours and refuses to come to me.

When my 9 month old GSD Yaffa goes for a ride in the car she is very reactive and doesn’t stop barking at other cars and people. My wife is with her in the back seat with a leash and she will try to give her some food or pull on the leash but Yaffa is so focused on the cars and the people. I know I should probably have a crate but it’s a small coupe and I can’t fit one. I appreciate any advice and thank you for everything that you do!
