Hello, I have a 2 year old male Belgian Malinois. He hates gun noises, like if someone is target shooting. He will shake so bad, he will foam to the mouth. What do I do to help him not be so scared ?

Hey Robert! Thanks for your advice when we first got our sprocker Laszlo! We let him meet people at his own pace and is no longer people shy! I’m wanting to do scent detection with him to tap into his natural instincts. The video I’m watching starts with a place command, and then putting their face in a box with a hole cut in it. He is not quite understanding what we’re asking of him when we try to do this exercise. I find everyone has a different approach to this so any advice is appreciated!

My 2 year old GSD does better with her reactivity when I use a halti. I notice that you never recommend a halti and I would like to know why you don’t care for them.

Greetings from Ukraine! I have a 5.5-month-old Malinois named Jack, and I’m struggling to teach him to walk on a loose leash. He stays close only when rewarded with food. I’ve tried turns, stops, circles, a long leash, and limiting sniffing (I let him sniff and do his business only at the start of the walk). Once I stop rewarding, he goes back to sniffing everything, picking up objects, pulling towards dogs, and shaking the leash aggressively. I’d like to take him on runs in the future, but his behavior makes me doubt it. I’d appreciate a structured response, as nothing has worked. Thank you!
