I am 80 years old, my husband 93. Our lab died last fall. My husband got a borddoodle, Juno, now 11 months old. We’re in the country; I am very active but also still have a job.Juno is well tempered but extremely self willed. she will not come if she does not want to. And this behavior is getting worse. She will keep her distance and dare you to catch her. I do not treat it as a game – so I do not run after her. I cannot keep her on a lead all the time. she needs some exercise. Walking her twice a day is not enough even with 2 frisbie playing sessions is not enough. She is not food motivated.

Hi we have a 10m/o Rottie who is not reactive towards other dogs or people except for when another dog is aggressive first. In our neighborhood there are multiple houses with Akitas and Pits who throw themselves at the fence barking when we walk by. We can reliably put him in a sit but as soon as any forward movement returns he breaks his heel and lunges unless the other dog has calmed down. There is also limited room to create distance and maintain a loose leash as we approach. Any advice on how to best handle these occasions or those where another leashed dog is acting similarly? Thanks!

Our 10 month old female rescue pup is dominating our other two dogs and attacks the older one, a female (14 attacks in 7 months). She is more than twice size of the other 2. We watched your “Jealous Dog Reactive issues” video and realized we did just about EVERYTHING wrong! Is there anyway we can re-establish the proper balance and hierarchy, or is it too late? We are worried we will not be able to get a handle on this. Thank you!

Aloha! My 2.5 yo Dobe Bitch and I do MTB bike joring. My problem is she will go aggressively after my front tire at the start causing a few flats. I try to verbally correct and command her forward, but she has that high prey drive look as she goes for the front moving tire. Once we get going she is find throughout, but takes about a minute Any training ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Robert, Since dogs can be overtrained, how should I schedule training with all the techniques? My 1.5y/o Rott was board and trained at 6mo, I got lazy on training since then but I have taken full control of training him full time last 60 days. I do at least one DEDICATED ~15 minute session each: Long line walking/turning (Akita video)

It seems like the training doesnt ‘stick’ when he is not in training mode. commands aren’t respected inside the house, doesnt ‘come’ when leash is not attached, and gets off place when im not looking. Thanks, you are one of my heroes BTW!

Hawk is 6 years old and we tried farmers dog, raw meat food (fido fuels) and then Purina dry food  (a recommendation from our vet). We are trying to get his weight down to 95lbs from current 106. We are trying to find the right amount of food to feed him. Please help. Thank you!!

Living in California, what kind of insurance should I be looking at getting for dog walking, sitting, bathing, training business. Any thoughts on what to prioritize when looking for insurance, and what to avoid. Currently I am doing daily dog walking (not charging) for neighbor that is recovering from surgery, and considering starting part-time business. Thank You!
