In your videos with Sonny the GSD, I heard you say no to correct a dog with leash popping when he is close in the first part. in the second part you pop the leash when he refuses to sit in the beginning. So how much leash popping is ok, when my dog is close to me?

Robert, I got a male Black GSD pup from the Czech Republic as of Dec 10, 2023 16 weeks old, I also ordered and paid for a male Belgian Malinois from Holland to be delivered March 2024. Can these two males get along or should I get a female Malinois instead? Both will not be neutered as a contract was signed. Any help will be appreciated …. Thanks in advance

Louis

Hey Robert, Greetings from Kampala, Uganda. I happen to be a big dog lover and enthusiast with experience handling boerboel mastiffs until recently I decided to venture into working line breeds to support local efforts in crime which is on the high in my place of origin. I bought a pedigree malinois( making 3 months on 14th) and have spent a week with him so far doing socialization and daily walks twice a day to expose him to the world around us. I kindly seek your guidance and mentorship in this journey in terms of a training schedule or daily guide.

Hi, I have a malinois female almost 3 years old, the stay at the start is a work in progress (I can make like 2 steps away in the agility course)

But also we are starting the target training for the contacts.

How do I make her not to sit on them ?

She goes to the target all happy but sits on it, she goes running full speed and sits like when I say place but in agility that won’t work

Thanks for all the help she is doing way better thanks to all your videos Im looking for some of agility in all those videos thanks again for your time.

My wife dropped a food bone by accident and we knew our dog was going to come and retrieve it. We knew our dog has resource guarding tendencies. As a result, my wife lured him away and feed him some other high value meat while I went to pick up the bone. In about 15 mins after, my dog would go back to the area and then suddenly bites my wife without warning. Can you give us any tips?

Is it possible to get any dog excited to play tug? If yes, how would you go about it? 3-year-old intact R Ridgeback.

It seems to me that my dog has 0 interest in toys. When he was a puppy he used to play tug a little bit, but the play drive eventually disappeared, the biggest drive has always been towards interacting with other dogs. He likes to chase a moving object, but as soon as it stops, the interest is gone. Food drive is okay.

Hello Robert I am asking about Mal’s and the things I have been reading. First of all I have been around this breed when I served with the US-SF. So I know they are intelligent, athletic and loyal dogs. I put a deposit down on a puppy to be picked up in March. Everything I have read is negative towards this animal. They need 12 hours constant attention, they tear everything up if not. I am very skeptical about getting one now, because I have to work and have other things going on. I cannot give that amount of time. Are these factual statements?

One of my 4 rescues has been resource guarding me. She has a high prey drive and has attacked 2 of our little dogs just for being around or trying to come near me in the kitchen and bedroom. Is this fixable or a rehome to only pet situation vs behavioral euthanasia?

I’ve watched my videos on Ecollar, i never hear anyone talking about the levels being used, I see larger dogs being corrected or reactive dogs stopped from reacting, my malinois will react when walking on the road if another dog keeps staring at him, level25 will stop him , but next day same thing will happen, do I need to increase level to stop it permanently

At what age or level of training should I begin to fade out the treat rewards with my puppy? My goal is to have a dog that will listen to commands without needing a treat reward.
