Hi Robert, I have 2 dogs that basically only go potty on walks. There are times when they do go potty in the back but only when it’s a dire need for them. Is there a way for me to train them to go potty in the back so that they know they’re allowed to use that as an option more instead of opting to hold it in until they get a walk? Our back isn’t that big but we always want to give them that option just in case.

I have a corgi that is from a hording residence and barks to come in, but refuses to when the door is open. Also being that she was mentally & physically abused by a male while in the hording population. I have tried several things from ideas & from the members page. Most info

given I have already tried or tried after the help. Nothing is working. She still seems to be so traumatized from her past history. I have gotten so frustrated and don’t know what to do any more. I do not want to go and return her to the rescue where we got her. She has been with us now for a year and half. HELP!!!

We rescued an abused and abandoned Malinois. Actually he chose us. We are in love!!! He is our second Mail. Our first should never have been sold to us. Greedy breeder. The Malinois, Jax, is in tact. Our male Aussie is in tact. I heard you mention on a trainers’ video that it is the nuetered dog that causes the problems. My intact Aussie is very reactive with our Jax. We are taking this introduction very slow and with the guidance of trainers. We are slated to fix the Mal. In a week. Are we doing right by these boys? Thank you for being a gift to us all.

When we go on a regular walk in our neighbor hood all our dog does is sniff the ground and grass, pees on trees, rocks, plants – which I am assuming is a dominate trait. She was a puller until we introduced her slowly to a prong and she still walks a head of us but doesn’t pull, however she still pees (or marks) and sniffs everything. Should we tell her to stop sniffing and to “leave it” and to not allow her to pee or mark on things? Also when there is a dog across the road she reacts and immediately goes to sniff the ground or pee on a tree. Should we put her on a fur saver or choke chain?

What is the best way/place/situation to introduce our new 10 week old male NAID puppy to our daughter’s 5 year old higher drive and lovely shepherd/husky/malamute girl Samara? We are considering a neutral place for the first introduction, like a quiet park or similar, and want to make sure the first meeting is positive and calm for both dogs. Samara lives with our daughter about an hour away, and we see her most weekends. As she is used to being the only dog in the two households, we want her to continue to feel important, yet also learn to be a calm and loving with the new little one.

I have a 5 month old Malinoise puppy and have been training him since he came home when he was 2.5 months old. When we’re training he starts barking during the exercises, this can be as soon as we start or after a few exercises. Lately I’ve been trying to use it to keep him energetic and in high spirits when training him, but I want to make sure I’m not creating a habit that will haunt me later. Is this normal behavior for a Malinois puppy and will it just go away or do I need to stop it now? If so, what advice do you have? Keep up the good work, greetings from a “Dog Geek” in Mexico

How do you handle CCD? At what point do you decide on euthanasia for CCD? My brilliant Siberian Husky (AKC, UD, RAE) is pacing, walking into corners and not able to figure out how to get out of the corner. He’s still drinking and eating. But it’s heartbreaking to watch.

Robert I’m doing something wrong and need help. When I take Apex out to a store, he wants to play with dogs and people and is extremely distracted. He is 8 months old now and still seems to be overly distracted by people and dogs. Listen well in the yard or when we are alone but I find it difficult to get the same obedience around dogs and people. I really don’t want to get an e collar at this point, but understand I may have to. He pays attention more with the prong collar on but again trying to avoid. I’m all ears. Please help!

Hi Robert, thank you for the fantastic content on your membership platform, it has truly transformed my 2 yr rescue GSD-Bitch. What are your thoughts on teaching a ‘look at me’ command as a way of improving engagement and focus. My girl is very quick and responsive to commands but seems to lack focus on me once in position, she always waits for a release, but could be looking else where in the mean time. I’d like to fine tune this in hope that it helps our training in areas where there are more distractions at play. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
