Mar. 12th, I bought an 8 month old German shepherd puppy. When I took the puppy home I found out my puppy had an UTI and would pee in her crate a lot even after bringing her outside. Constant clean up. After about a week or so of antibiotics my puppy can’t seem to hold her bladder at all. Is this normal or does the puppy seem to have something wrong with her bladder medically. Puppy seems to not have any control of her bladder. Is this normal? She is 4 mos. old now and I can’t house break her.

I’m considering adopting a 1 yo intact M from a private source. I have a 15 yo F Basenji & I had a Male foster in the house about a year ago. Is there anything I can do to prevent the new dog from marking in the house, and if he starts, what’s the best strategy to deal with it? Are dogs less likely to mark if gotten as a puppy rather than an adult? And I’m talking about a Malinois- as always keep up the great work! Thanks

Hi Robert, my friend has a Pomeranian, he wants to keep Working line German Shepherd….does a GSD goes along with a Pomeranian???

Kelly

Hi Robert & Janet, congrats on your recent hunting title! I have a 5.5m GSD that has recently discovered her voice. She likes to bound around the yard and see what birds, various critters, she can startle out of the bushes by barking. Verbal firm no/knock it off has no effect, even on long line to assist with recall, since she is enjoying herself so much. She doesn’t do this on walks/outside environments, but need suggestions on how to curtail behavior at home.

My puppy is 5 months old and we just got him. He currently came to be sick and with panosteitis. Which is growing pains, he was told to take it easy for a couple months. The vet said good luck since he is a puppy. He bites me not matter what. Whenever I try to get him to stop, he won’t! He can keep coming at me for 20 minutes. I try to redirect him and it doesn’t work. Help me. My hands and legs and all bit up. What am I doing wrong and how can I help my puppy? I love this dog so much!

I have. GSD female 2.5 years old. I got her BH title but still have issues walking on the street when she sees cars. She lunges and stalks them. On the field you would not know she had this issue because she loves to work but walking another story.

My 2.5 year old Amstaff has started getting aggressive in the last 6 months. He doesn’t like Shibas and male bull breeds (that seem younger and energetic). Off-leash he is a lot better and tends to be wary/curious of these types of dogs, he might growl if they get super close but nothing more. When in the street if he fixates on another dog and then get’s a little bit of tension on the harness he tends to lunge and be aggressive, the harness pressure is a trigger making corrections difficult.

Hi Robert,I´ve seen all your crate videos and have a question. When doing the crate training,do you recommend to not lock your dog in right after the training session? I’ve followed the steps for my 7 week old Malinois and every time I lock his crate he goes bananas(cries, bites and barks). I feel like Im doing something wrong, I understand the importance of crate training so I want to get it right. I’m also doing “lure” training and thats all good but crate is where Im failing. Do I let him cry?

Hey, you must have gotten my name mixed up with someone else’s. I clicked on your yt clip and was so excited you were answering my question on how to build confidence in my GSD pup so he stops barking at everyone/animals but it was a woman that has a rotty. My boy listens to me more then my husband, does not listen well outside even though I do plenty of obedience outside. I sent you an email with much more detail. As I am also having issues with him and my dog friendly cat getting along.

Our 3 yo GSD is not adjusting well to a foster dog we just took in. She barks at him nonstop, tries to prevent him from playing with the other dogs or walking into rooms, and gets after him when we try to correct him.

She has mild resource guarding issues when it comes to food and toys, but this situation feels much larger scale/more territorial. It feels chaotic and she’s not being very receptive to commands and redirections.

Any videos or advice that fit this situation?

Theo is eight month 80 pounds, rolls on her back if she doesn’t want to get in the car. How do I get her in the car and stop the already developed bad behavior?

Is it a bad idea to let my dog sleep on the bed with me ?

I’ve just completed the leash walking video you did with Siggy. I’ve been applying the techniques demonstrated and it has been working unbelievably well with my dog. I’m using a 10 foot long line, a prong collar, and am making sure to keep the leash loose. How does this lesson apply to walking my dog in public/crowded areas?
