Start collecting them at random times and not going in or stopping play. Perhaps start a whole different game with just one toy. You could bring just the one toy out at a time for a while. Not sure of your exact set up, but you could let the dog in the house or put her in the car and then pick up the toys too. She has to see that it is not always the same sequence of events.

IIf you go to the lesson page and type loose leash in the search, this one and 2 or 3 others come up.

Robert has loose leash walking videos he did with Maya. I think there are at least 2 parts to it.

At 1 year, is she maybe due for another fear period? Our male GSD is 18 months now and he had a fear period a couple of months ago.

Yes, the stay is implied. This eliminates the need for a second command of “stay”. Another advantage to this is that if they break their position, they are only breaking 1 command and not 2.

Hi! Just wanted to suggest a lesson on boundary training. Hopefully a large/ long boundary preferred. It is time to begin training our 16 month old GSD to be able to go out to our farm for walks around the field and I do not want him to go near the road or the neighbour’s chicken pen. Hoping to make the boundary a good distance from the chicken pen so as not to peak his interest too much.

Hope you have a wonderful journey with your pup. Robert has compiled one of the most complete, no nonsense training video collections available and is dedicated to adding to it and improving it every week. Be sure to watch the “join the lesson” videos as well, they really do illustrate exactly what he means and how to do it with a green dog.

Our thoughts are with you both. Know that you made his golden years the best they could be.

For sure. They each definitely have their own outlook and way to interact with the world.
