Complete Dog to Dog Intro Demo

In this video Pete and I demonstrate proper dog to dog introductions. There are several steps that we take in getting dogs around each other including: using food, stacked introductions, leash dropping and more.

The idea is that we strive for safety to prevent a fight, and if one happens, we want to be able to step in as quickly as possible. This training requires the concept to know what to look for, but your best friend is your gut and quick responses.

You never want to move forward if you think something is going to go wrong (you’ll hear more about this in the playgroup section) because if you think something bad is going to happen, you’re probably gonna project it on to your dog. Being confident and calm makes all the difference.

And, most importantly, always do this exercise with someone you trust!
