ULTIMATE Training Series

The lessons on this page are categorized by the dog / breed. Each dog on this page has done multiple training lessons with me. This will allow you to follow along the training of a particular dog from the first day onward. Some dogs did only a couple of sessions, while others did more.
You will see these lessons on other sections of this site.
I simply categorized them here in order to make it easier for you to follow along by the dog!

Siggy

Breed - Belgian Malinois

Siggy started training with me at about 10 weeks old. Throughout this series you’ll be able to see his development from young, hyper (and sometimes timid) puppy to a well behaved, obedient and much more confident dog. Yossi, Siggy’s owner has done a lot of work to help his development and followed the training regularly. There’s lots of great knowledge to be gained from this series.

Max

Breed - Akita

Max is a very typical Akita, dominant, headstrong, aloof and independent. We started training max very early on, about 10 weeks old. This series documents his evolution from stubborn puppy to well behaved, social adult dog. This is not an easy dog to train and the techniques here might differ from some of the other training on the site, but it works and it’s very fair to the dog.

Loaf

Breed - Bully

Loaf came as a referral for his aggression to people and dogs. He lived up to his reputation. He went after me in session 1 and after Goofy in session 2.

In this series you’ll see how address aggression and focus on corrections, reward and obedience to counter further bad behaviors. This breed is known for its stubbornness and difficulty to training.

Karl

Breed - Rottweiler

Karl is not your typical Rottweiler. My friend Jerome rescued him from a shelter here in L.A. and he is everything you could ever want in a dog. He’s kind, good with people and other dogs and LOVES Jerome.

In this series you’ll follow along from the basics we taught Karl until one day when Jerome suddenly suffered two strokes, that’s where the training changed. This is a continuing series with more lessons coming regularly.

Sonny

Breed - German Shepherd

Sonny did three sessions with me due to his dog reactivity / aggression. Ben did an amazing job carrying the training through during and after our training. Sonny had a “built in” trigger to other dogs and controlling that by giving him something else to do was my goal.

These three sessions are very intense, and the result at the end is. worth it. I spoke to Ben months after our last session and got a glowing report that through continued training, Sonny is doing great!

Rio

Breed - Alano Espanol

You may never have heard of an Alano, but it’s a very interesting dog. Although not yet recognized by the AKC, they are a well known breed known for hunting and guarding as well as management of cattle. Rio is a very intimidating dog to many, but his training by Harold has really turned him into a great dog. He is a recognized AKC Canine Good Citizen and a star in obedience training.

Rio has been training with me for over a year and his obedience is top shelf! There will be regular updates here on Rio as well as in other training lessons.

Mellow

Breed - Labrador Retriever

Mellow belongs to a friend of mine, Ellen.  I’ve helped Ellen with her other dogs over the years, but Mellow is the first one that we started training as a puppy.  Mellow is an adorable, bouncy, female yellow lab that loves to play and train.  We’re starting her off right with lots of games, structure and engagement.  Aside from our lessons here, Ellen has a house full of Labradors that Mellow gets to play with.

These sessions will be overall puppy – dog training.  Engagement, no jumping, other dogs, easy mouth and obedience basics.  Since she really doesn’t have any issues, it is a good series on things we should and shouldn’t do with our young puppies to turn them into the best dogs.
