Engagement vs. Playgroups Lecture DEMO

This lesson deals with dogs in a group and how to engage them, correct them and work with them. We work on leash skills, dog neutrality and demonstrate ways to get the dogs to focus more on you. We talk about how to reward behavior and how to get the behavior we want. Using redirection as a way of correction makes the dog check in with us and build a better bond.

In thise discussion we talk about the difference between playgroups and engagement training.

This is a great large group training with Louis and I working with different handlers. You’d be best served to watch this two or more times to follow my lectures first and then Louis’. There is a little cross talk on some of the video lessons since we didn’t aim at shooting a professional video series. This entire course was shot on the fly with little regard for anything other than saving lives!

This was often the case when Louis and I taught together. We would be giving advice to two different people at the same time. Since all of these sessions were filmed during workshops, they are real and raw. I never did set ups, rehearsals or edits to make it pretty. This is real world training, real world issues and real results!
