Introduction & Mission Statement

As you may or may not know, this program was taught through Bound Angels to shelters nationwide. Therefore I’ll share with you my original mission of Bound Angels:

The mission of Bound Angels is to give shelter dogs the tools to get out of the shelter and stay out.  We do this through educating shelter staff, management and volunteers in canine behavior / dog training. 

By giving shelter workers the tools to better understand canine behavior, and modify it when appropriate, every dog that each worker touches has a better chance at a forever home.

Our Primary Goal

Our primary goal at Bound Angels University is to share knowledge with like-minded people who work in the animal shelter world.  The key to better understanding is open dialog and communication.  We hope to educate, inspire and motivate you to do more, help more, and save more dogs.  

Unacceptable Behaviors

We are here to share knowledge that will help save more dogs.  We will not accept any punishing, hurting or abuse of dogs regardless of the circumstances.  Scolding, hitting or bullying of dogs will be grounds for immediate dismissal from this program.  Everyone should maintain a humble attitude towards learning and sharing the knowledge that will make dogs more adoptable.  If you have an opinion or would like to ask questions, please wait for the Q&A section or raise your hand.   Furthermore, we expect you to continue to show this level of respect and compassion for dogs when you leave the program and begin applying these techniques at your shelter.
