Many of you have reached out and told me how valuable you found the last “group training lesson” I posted. This lesson is from the following week at the park. We continue on with our training and focus on some more skills, such as being able to move our dogs around other dogs on a leash, meeting people and some basic obedience.
I also spend some individual time with some of the dogs and their people to focus on building engagement and increasing the dog’s desire and drive to work, as well as the most important of all things: building a relationship between dogs and people. This can all be done through training if that training is fun and fair to our dogs.
I’ve done many of these classes for free at the local park. I wish more trainers would do these kinds of classes and I wish more community centers offered them instead of being caught up in this PC / Purely Positive nonsense. These are real dogs with real behavioral issues that all get on just fine with a little bit of structure and dedication from their people.
