Max Day 9 – Stay Under Distractions

One of the hardest things to teach a dog to do is to be calm when there are distractions. Here we challenge Max the Akita to do just that. I am a stickler when it comes to dominant breeds being under control. Too often we hear the horror stories of people’s dogs getting hurt by a dominant dog who cannot be controlled. I have worked with countless strong, willful and dominant dogs, as well as having owned several – they MUST be under control.

Max is not an easy dog and for most people he would be way too much dog. As Joey, one of my closest friends, learned – we have to take control on a dog like Max.

As you’ll see near the end of this video, Max had more distractions than just the flirt pole, Siggy was also close by testing him.
