It’s been a little while since I updated the Ultimate Puppy Series, so let’s get back to it with Max.
As you can see, Max is coming along nicely, but he is still Max and he is, after all, an Akita. The beauty in this series is that you can see the difference between training a dog like Siggy and a dog like Max.
In this session we teach Max a short engagement routine to build some engagement to Joey. This is a great little trick you cna do with your dog. It doesn’t have to be what I show here, it can be any 3-5 things just strung together. Something to get your dog into the mindset to train.
Once we get Max engaged we get to the training and we cover the send away, stay and stay with a big distraction, the Duane O Mator. Never add distractions to your dog’s training if he hasn’t mastered the skill without distractions.
