I think that the video lessons on properly socializing your dog in town are among the most important ones I post. There are so many dogs that have terrible manners and create countless problems when they are not properly introduced to socialization at an early age.
Negative experiences can make it worse, so it’s important to set your dog up for success and that is what I have been covering in all of the lessons that relate to this topic here in the member section. Siggy is a great dog to do this with. He’s a little insecure and could be a dog that could have issues with an experience like this. In his case it is more genetic than training so it takes a little more work. I went through this with Goofy who also had issues early on. It’s imperative to work through these issues, not try to avoid them. THAT is a huge mistake!
Take the time to properly socialize your dog, make it a positive experience, but also correct for bad behaviors and above all else, protect your dog, other dogs and the people around you..
