Puppy Engagement, Obedience & Distractions Max Day 8

This is Day 8 of Max’s puppy training. I hope you’re enjoying watching the progress of his training.

As with any training, it’s important to realize there may be some hiccups. I want you to know that these hiccups are a normal part of training and every trainer experiences them, doesn’t matter if you are a professional or first timer.

In this session we work on building engagement to us when there are distractions present – and there almost always are distractions. I’ll show you how I use excitement to build focus and engagement. Then we’ll introduce some distractions to Max by using the flirt pole and finally by introducing another dog into the picture. Socialization is important, but that doesn’t mean we let dogs play, in fact it means the opposite. I think you’ll learn a lot from this lesson.
