This lesson may seem a bit repetitive, but it’s the repetition that you need to see. I know many of the other lessons in the member section really get to it. I focussed on that throughout. “Here’s what you have to do, now go do it!”

What’s so different about this section is that I’m walking you through it as I go through it. It takes time. I know with Goofy it was a year before he had a good focus heel. With Schmoo I’m spending even more time. I’m not alone, as more people that I talk to (in the higher competition side) told me, it can take till the dog is over 2 to get a good focus heel.

There are other things that go on in this session as well. It’s the entire session, basically un-edited. We focus on some SIT and STAND in motion as well as some games… including a little look into the ARTICLE GAME that my friend Frank taught me. It’s where you throw a treat and when the dog comes back you have one of your tracking articles out and point to it and tell your dog to PLATZ or DOWN on it. This teaches the dog when they see the article they must down. Not sure if I’ll add any tracking video instruction here, since I’m no expert, but I certainly love it. But this is a great way to introduce the dog to the concept of “DOWN ON THE ARTICLE.”

Enjoy the session and then go train your dog!!!
