This is a super fun lesson and it’s also very useful. I will caution you though, if you have a very high intensity dog, don’t overdo this one. It could bite you in the butt. I’ll talk more about this in the future, but the more drive you create, the more you’ll be managing.
I believe in letting a puppy be a puppy and trying not to squash puppy energy, so these kind of rewards are a great way to reward a dog from a very static or boring exercise such as basic position, heel, or others and make them more exciting. I’ll walk you through step by step how I do it and how to make it work. We work through some mistakes, hurdles and obstacles… and as you know I like to leave them in because you learn a lot from watching how to work through mistakes. Few things are as frustrating as showing something PERFECT and then you have no idea how to fix the mistakes.
Training Schmoo is the most fun thing in my life. I love it and live for it. I always want to do more and the only thing that prevents me from doing more is that I know it’s not in his best interest to overtrain.
Enjoy this lesson. It’s awesome! I welcome your thoughts and feedback!
