Schmuley Journal 17 – Indirect Rewards & Tug Game Tips

I’m posting two separate lessons in this Member Lesson.

First off I want to introduce you to a tool that I’ve been using for a while and I really love it. Janet introduced me to it a few years back. What’s great about it is it takes the rewards off of you and allows you to send your dog to a place to be rewarded, but more importantly it allows you to control if the dog gets rewarded and if not. So if your dog breaks and just heads over there, there’s no treat / no reward until you push the button. If you’re using the Martin System Ecollar, you can use the remote CTT4 and program one button to the treat and train.

If you want to get a treat and train I posted the link to my amazon store on the shop page. Be sure to get the one I suggest, there are a lot of cheap knockoffs.
Here’s the direct link to the Treat and Train model that I’m using! CLICK HERE!

Part 2 of this lesson is a short tug session with young Schmoo. This is a great insight into how tug play should work. It should not be a struggle, there should be no conflict – it should flow. At some point I’ll make a masterclass or mini course on tug and the clean out command. But if you go through my lessons here in the member section, you can get a pretty good idea on how I handle it.

Enjoy the lesson and take your time with your dog. It’s a journey every day!
