Siggy Day 11 – Basics and Dog to Dog Social

This is Siggy’s 11th lesson and that puts him at about 20 weeks old or so. You can see he’s doing amazing, and at this phase I like to introduce dogs in a safe and social way. You all know I don’t advocate or even like dog parks. THIS is the way for dogs to meet. They can see each other, smell each other and be around each other without playing. My dogs only play with my dogs and dogs I know very well. I do this in an effort to achieve two things: 1. safety and 2. a desire to be with me over other dogs!

This lesson incorporates a lot of information. The beginning part you’ll see Yossi working on basics with Siggy including healing and positions. These are great things to always brush up on. Then in part 2 we really break down the “manners” portion of being around other dogs… and as a special treat, I bring Goofy in to show off and more importantly be a role mode for how it’s done. You’ll see NOTHING distracts Goofy. He does what I say and LOVES every minute of it. I miss him every day and am so happy to have so many great memories to share with you!
