Hi Robert, Sven here. Our 11wk Bouvier is great with sit, down, leave it & recall. He’s hand-fed. The issue is specific growling: he growls when I pick him up while he’s hyper-focused on sniffing in the garden, and when I take his pillow during humping. In normal play, he’s never possessive. We currently ignore the growl and follow through (take pup/item) with a verbal correction. We aren’t afraid, but want to know: is “pushing through” the growl the right approach for this breed, or should we handle these moments differently? Thanks!

Hey I bought your 30 day puppy course and I noticed you don’t crate schmoo in your bedroom while you sleep. I want to crate my corso puppy in a separate room while I sleep as well but I have heard this can cause separation anxiety. What are your thoughts on that?

Hello, I hope everything is well with you and your family. Myself and the dogs have been away from home and been living out of my van for a few weeks. I had mixed feelings about this, living in a constricted space with 3 high drive malinois and a kangal puppy.
But this is one of the best training opportunities I have ever had. The dogs are outdoors about 8-12 hours a day and do dogsledding, igp and search. This turns them in real good mood for learning the stuff needed for winter car and tent camping. Turning problems into a advantage Would you make a talk about it. It would benefit a lot of us.

I have a German shepherd who is 4 years old and knows his commands. We regularly practice obedience training. I recently moved to the mountains and with the wildlife I want to ensure my dog has a guaranteed recall. His recall right now is solid but need an extra layer of protection. I am confused which ecollar to get. I really do not want to spend 1k. Any advice and do your videos show you how to operate the remote? Thank you, big fan of your work have been watching your videos for many years.

Starting over?I have a 2 yr old male Bel. Mal. During our training with an in home trainer, I realized late in the game, months later, that he had ended up training me to treat him for instigating the command that got him treats. i.e. Stop it.. he would intentionally start chewing a chair, or pull a towel from the rack to get the ‘Stop It’ command to get a treat for stopping it! the only answer I was ever able to get, was that I had to stop it before it happens. I need an answer for how do I retrain it correctly, and how do I stop it from happening in the future? Thanks for all you do!!
