Last week you advised us to do extra training to learn our white shepherd (14w) to chill outside her crate. She could chew (stick) in her bed (20min). We try to do this now 2-3 times/day. And we started using your PLACE videos. No corrections yet, but pup can wait for up to 75sec before I repeat GOOD BED or reward (food) or release (YES) her, also when I’m out of sight for 5 sec or 15 meters away. After this training or without stick, she doesn’t stay in bed. Ok to not expect more given her age? Not sure if we understood how you wanted us using the leash to let her chill when checking emails.

My 4 yo male rescue (Australian cattle dog / German Shepard / Chow Chow) loved riding quietly in the car (with his 4 yo male co rescue who rides quietly) until 1 1/2 years ago, and he now pants constantly on all trips of any length. We don’t know what got it started. After about 45 min on a longer trip he will stop. Suggestions?

Hello Robert and family hope you are all well. The last days I have been consentrating on getting findius the kangal puppy comfortable with people on wheels, wheelchairs, bikes, baby strollers and other small contraptions with wheels on them. We have been in some small shopping centers and the streets of nearby towns. He seems to be good with all of this things. With people he is very friendly and ok with dogs, actually carful around the small ones. I think now is the time to dampen his interest in other people without making him untrustful. What is your thoughts.

Do you put water in the kennel with your dogs? Is it all the time or does it depend on how long they will be in there?

3 year old goldendoodle; well trained; generally totally calm- totally easy.  As soon as car starts, he trembles and/or pants.  Did not stop panting on entire 4 day trip from FL to ME.  Doctor prescribed every med they could think of, and started combining.  No success.  He was miserable 4 days up & 4 days back.  Have decided he can’t do summers in ME with us.  😭. Help!

6 month old rescued from  who kept him tied up.  He’s been with me 4 months.  Great with stay, sit, on and off leash  on walks around neighborhood.  Loves to be pet by anyone and will go as far as walk off with them for more petting.  The dog is so outwardly loving people go as far as to hugging him.  He’s becoming the dog park teddy bear. How do I stop this behavior?

My Mal is 16 months. Lately, he has become a bit stubborn, independent, a bit harder to work with. Sometimes I have to repeat commands that he has responded to well the first time. 80% of his training has come from what I’ve learned here. (the other 20% larry krohn)  I am told it’s the age he is going through . I am trying to determine if it is age related or if gaps in my training.  Would appreciate you speaking on this phase of a dog’s life and how to manage a dog through it, or where do most training students (I’m not a pro, but an avid student) fall short during this phase.  Thanks!

Hello from Greece. Already finished the 30days & continue with your amazing gallery. I have 4 dogs. How can I control my mal 5 months puppy from acting crazy whenever she sees/meets my 7y male 44kilos. She goes straight at him for licking, biting and playing but she is unstoppable and she gets him nervous as he is trying to avoid her and I struggle to stop her with her leash. They play very good together in the yard and after a few minutes she goes in her crate as she never stops. What do you suggest? It’s very tiring & I can’t leave her free in the house. I’m using the command “No” to stop it

Hey Robert, thanks for all you do! My 11 month old mal / gsp mix lacks confidence. She’s fantastic and we train / exercise her everyday. She’s a great dog but definitely is a bit unsure of herself, especially meeting new people. She’s super sweet so I’d love to build her confidence. What’s the best way to build that last bit of confidence without putting her in situations she isnt ready for just yet? She’s 11 months and we’ve had her since 9 weeks. I absolutely understand she’s still a puppy so I don’t want to push too hard

Hi Robert—neutered male mix (~15 kg, 1y8m). On Proin (PPA) ¼ tab nightly for occasional dribbling. Not sure it’s the Proin (we’re considering stopping and going holistic), but reactivity toward intact males has generalized: two bad run-ins as a pup → now any intact male. Since Proin I also see more chase toward cats/birds. He’s social with dogs/people, but at trigger distance he tunes me out.

“How should I handle this day-to-day—on walks and around intact males?”

Hi Robert, as  breeder I am morally and ethically obliged to take dogs back that I have bred, recently Loki has been returned to me. Loki went to puppy school then onto anti-anxiety meds for nipping and jumping @ 5 mths old. Left in the yard & forgotten about. Where do I start, he is not on meds now as he didn’t come to me with any. Not a mean bone in his body but wild. Whats the best way to start with a dog like this? I don’t want to fail him a second time.. Thank you
