Halo cabralians.

A malinois nr2 will be arriving next summer or or the summer after.

I am considering a male.

(I almost cant wait to get 2 malinois and 2 huskies in front of my bike)

My experience with sled dogs tells me that bigger dogs have a harder time getting rid of heat buildup while running and are slower to develop their bodies.

They are also more at risk of getting injured especially shoulder and wrist injuries.

I expect this to be about the same with the malinois.

Can you educate me a bit on this subject when it comes to these dogs.

Ps thank you for speaking up agents extremists

Hi Robert, I am enjoying putting your leassona into action with my 14 week old GSD pup. Maybe I overlooked a video where you gave this info, but is there an age or size where it’s ok to add the collar and leash pops while building recall? I don’t want to do this with my pup if he’s too small still. So far I’m only using treats and vocals. Also, do you adjust the leash pop intensity based on the size and age of a dog? I don’t want to do it if he’s not physically ready.

Thanks for your wonderful content!

Hi, not a question just an update:) Ash, 3y GSD and e-collar “stone face”. I decided to give a try to winged pads I asked about last time. I can now clearly see the signs of him feeling it 😉 So, of course, you were right 🙂 But I would not have thought of that if not for you saying that you had not met a “stone face” dog before. Also, that muscle twitch might not be a sign of him feeling it. He responds very well and happily 🙂 He has good recall already, but this tool is going to be a game changer for us, as we spent a lot of time in the woods and he likes to chase. Thank you for your help!

Hey Robert I have a pit husky mix I have been training (my personal dogg 4 years old) and she seems to heel almost perfect when using the e collar pressure but it seems like she is more stubborn when it comes to the prong and just keeps edging forward a little and using the “same” amount of pressure on the prong as the e collar if that makes sense. So wondering how I can improve her to listen to the prong as well as she does the e collar. Maybe I didn’t do a good enough job helping her understand the prong pressure?

What puppy age do you typically start training leash walking skills.

Hi Robert, following up on last week’s question, I had the GSD 1st then adopted the Pomeranian, the peeing happened when they tried to sniff each other through the crate, I’m trying to figure out a better way to control the situation but correcting the Pomeranian is the tricky part coz I dont wanna correct him using the crate i want it to remain his safe place, nor can I use a choke chain on him he’s too tiny, please help

Hi Robert and Janet. I saw your post about shelter dog crisis. I sobbed. What can I do to help shelter dogs? I love dogs! I have no dog experience, and a high traffic household with young children. Looking for my first dog as an adult. I think I need to start with a retriever as I’m just learning, have calm energy. I feel guilty for going to an ethical breeder, as I hear from the rescue community that buying any dog when there are so many dogs dying in the shelter contributes to the crisis. I go to the shelter and see amazing dogs (GSD, Husky, Pits) that I want to help 🙁 Pls advise. Thanks!
