I have my first Belgian Malinois puppy and my 4 yr old GSD is not very happy and shows signs of being depressed, gone off her food, hiding away, and she seems very sad about no longer being number one dog. Any advice to support her

Hello. I have a 2-year-old Belgian malinois that I have been working with for the past year after she was dumped in our rural area. She is progressing relatively well in her training, but an e collar would be helpful now. I’ve watched your e collar lessons, but cannot afford the Martin System you recommended. The more affordable Garmin Delta XC you also recommended has been discontinued. Is there another option you could suggest now? Thanks.

Our 5 mo old Mali has occasionally growled at one of us. First when reaching in crate as he’s resting, also when reaching for his toy.Last time I accidentally stepped against him while resting. He hasn’t snapped or bitten, just growled. It’s scary. ChatGPT says don’t punish, give him space, but that seems like it would encourage the behavior. Happens more with guys in the family, I thought it was because I (mom) work with him more but he just did it to me too. What does it mean and how to handle it in the moment?

I adopted my Staffie in Nov. ’24 at 2.5yo from 6mo in shelter, picked up as a stray/recent mom. She was treated for pressure sores and severe depression. She’s gone from being freaked out around cats to cohabiting nicely w/my 2, from withdrawn to sweet & engaging, and she’s learned basic obedience, leash manners, confidence around other dogs & people, and PLAY. It’s been long & slow and wonderful, and your videos have gotten us here. In the last 2mo, she has blossomed, and has finally starting to push boundaries/ignore me at times. Please discuss corrections in this context. Thank you!
