Hi Robert, I have 3 feral rescues. My middle dog (3yo neutered) is the sweetest, most gentle with other dogs, but very fearful of sounds/crowds. He’s the pack leader who keeps everyone together on walks. Recently he’s started snapping (not biting) when I try to do necessary care like eye drops or tick removal, though daily brushing is fine. How should I handle this fear-based defensiveness during medical care?
Thanks, Cie

I am a trainer and want to better understand how you use the e collar with your puppy or if you use the prong with him? I have seen top trainers use e collars on puppies and was curious on how you go about that? I know some people say wait till 6 months give or take but have seen good results from people using it on puppies. I understand with the internet we don’t see behind the scenes so I was curious on your take. I know for the average pet owner you wouldn’t recommend it but what about for trainers?

Our 18 month old Belgian Malinois is perfect in obedience and around the house, leash walking is also pretty good, until we see any moving object, especially another dog, runner, cyclist. We have tried all of your training techniques (we are members) but nothing is changing, or when we think he’s taken a step forward, he takes 2 back!
Could this be breeding or neurological? Or are we at fault! We’ve made some changes to ourselves too from your video advise!
We hope you can help!

My 14 week old Golden Retriever pup is anticipating the command. For example, he’s sitting and I’ll say “up” which he mostly does get up. However, he’ll then quickly proceed to do a down or sit back down before either command is given. He won’t stay up. I’ve released him after each command given. And I lure him into a stand to have him know to stay at a stand but it’s not working. What do you recommend? Thank you for your help and time. Lord Jesus Christ bless you.

Halo Robert and family.
I have now been with a working dog club for about 3 years. I am very thankful towards the people there who have helped me out, I have learned a lot from them. One big difference in how we do things is that I feel that my dogs should perform also if there are other dogs around ( not up in their face)
Many of those dogs lose their focus very easily if there are other dogs nearby. My dogs are very used to be working around other dogs. Maybe this is something more people should consider? Not easy for everyone to put together, I understand that. Thoughts about this?

GSD working line male 8 months old. does great on regular leash walks. issue faced is when he knows I am taking him to the park to play with him (seeing long line and balls in hand) he is too excited and pulls hard at the end of the line running towards the park, i understand he really wants the game to start soon. How do I fix this? Thanks
