Hi Robert- I’m a volunteer for MAD Rescue; we rescue Mals & Dutchies. Would you please consider making a podcast/video to persuade the avg dog owner away from adopting/owning these dogs? As i’m sure you are aware the shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with these dogs. People do not do their research and end up getting them and cannot handle their energy and mental needs. They see cool videos & movies & say wow they’re so cool I want one. People need to understand the hours & commitment required to have these dogs. We need to spread the word! It’s heartbreaking; they’re becoming the pitbull.

I have a 3 year old intact female Malinois. This summer, we’ve been having a blast participating in weekly dock diving classes. Unfortunately she just came into heat. There are a lot of mixed messages online in regard to whether or not a female is at more risk

of infection to swim during heat, or at what point a dog in heat can go back in the water. Do you have any experience with this situation? Thanks for your time!

My partner and I have a 10 month old Malinois/Mastiff rescue. Training has been going well, but we have one issue we are struggling with: barking at neighbors. We live in an apartment complex near the entryway so every time people enter or a delivery arrives she will bark loudly and continuously. We’ve been using the quiet command and place to redirect and calm her, with some success, but only when we are there to actively hold her attention. We know we should have reasonable expectations given her breed, but need advice about any other tools or approaches that could help us. Thanks

He is a very nervous and sensitive low drive (evaluation of dog trainers) 14 months old shelter Malinois. In not very familiar areas (he has been there, but not very often) he is overexcited i have to block his way every 10 feet. I change directions and leash pop, like in your tutorials, but that just makes things worse and he becomes more hectic and tries to walk zig zags between anticipating my corrections and sensations he smells and sees. Also after a bunch of corrections he avoids me. How do I differentiate between he does not care/has no will to please and he can not do better?

I got my current dog as a pet and companion and I couldn’t ask for a better one! However, ever since training with him and being around a local dog training group I have quickly become addicted to it particularly scent work. My dog does not seem to be cut out for it because he gets tired easy and I’m not going to make him do something he’s not loving. What would you say to someone that wants to get a dog in the future with more drive for tracking and SAR work? I still want it to be my companion, but with more drive. Is there a breed you would lean more towards and should it be a working line?
