I have a 14-month-old male Belgian Malinois (presently intact). “Housebreaking” went as usual, no problem. He always seems happy, never sullen or withdrawn. About three months ago, he started urinating in the house, sometimes twice a day, sometimes once a week. Typically happens shortly after he comes in, after being outside for a couple of hours. We never catch him in the act, but I am not sure if he is deliberately doing it secretly, or if it just happens that way. I am at a loss as to how to deal with this. (I have more details to offer but can’t fit them into the 600 character limit.)

What would be your guidelines to a newbie on how to use the e-collar?

Currently I’m pretty content with having just our female rescue Mal, but with the staggering number of mals and dutchies in the shelters I’d like to consider short to medium term fostering here and there. I know you preach safe structured introductions when bringing another dog into the home. Do you have a video describing the steps and process you use to maximize success?

How can I teach my 2 year old Belgian Malinois to settle when guests come inside our home (or even near our home)? He barks and pulls on his leash. I don’t think this is aggression but more uncertainty and just very overstimulated (he will get low to the ground and want to go over to them, will take treats from them, but will just continue to bark and pull. What are the steps to work on in breaking him of this? (It is also complicated by my other dog who will settle but in these situations barks with him.) Do I work with them separately and then together? Thank you Robert!
