YES!  Although I am showing you my journey with Schmoo who is 10 weeks old here, any puppy will benefit from the structure and ideas in this course.  It’s always best to get your puppy started early, so the sooner you start, the better it will be for your puppy…. and you!

Training is an ongoing journey, and at very early stages (like in this course), we are working on many aspects of puppy development including: proper socialization, hand feeding, structure, bonding and very important – making learning fun for our puppy.  After you complete the 30 days you and your puppy will be off on a huge start to your early training as well as life skills that will last your puppy his or her lifetime!

YES!  100%. This is one of the primary elements in this course.  The daily routine that I do with my puppy includes house training / crate training and much more.  You will get a solid understanding on the importance of structured crate training, potty breaks as well as play and training.

You can choose to go at any pace you like.  However, it’s best to try and follow each day as it goes.  This will keep both you and your puppy on a good schedule.  It’s really important for puppies to have structure and prevent failure as much as possible.  I recommend watching the video the night before and have a plan for the next day.  One video a night and the next day you’ll be off and running!

This course is designed for anyone, including total beginners.  Even if this is your very first puppy, this course will set you up for success from day 1.  There are many great takeaways that will benefit anyone including seasoned dog owners.

Yes, in the course you’ll join me in my home with all of my other dogs including: Goofy 13 year old Belgian Malinois, Maya 12 year old German Shepherd, Jimi 12 year old Labrador Retriever and Duane 6 year old Labrador Retriever.  Schmoo get to meet and hang out with each of them every day.  

The main focus of this course is teaching your puppy how to learn and forming a bond as well as socialization, I cover basics of SIT, DOWN and STAND, RECALL / COME, as well as leash walking and crate training.  The most critical thing is setting your puppy up for success.  Pushing too hard on teaching tricks and obedience early on can be hurtful on the relationship.  I assure you, you will learn all the skills your puppy needs to be set up for success.

Yes and No.  This course will give your puppy the tools to develop properly to do protection sports.  You’ll see a few sessions of the puppy doing “rag work” and “Boogie Man Training” as well as tug and teaching the OUT command.  If you are planning on doing the sport, be sure to get into a very competent club that trains protection sports in an ethical and fun way for your puppy.
