Crate Training is one of the most misunderstood aspects of dog training. I get asked so many question about just this one topic… which is why I thought to dedicate my first “mini-course” to just to crate training and give you all the information you need in ONE PLACE.
People often jump to drastic conclusions on crate training and think that they are keeping their dog a prisoner in a crate or take away their dog’s freedom by crate training them. Nothing could be further from the truth as you’ll learn in this short, informative course.
I want to show you just how easy it is to crate train your dog and show you the amazing life-skill that just this one little lesson can provide for your dog. Undoubtedly, your dog and your life will be much easier once you work through this simple skill. It will take a little bit of time, but it’s well worth it. There will be some hurdles, as with any training, but seeing this through is well worth it! Even if you will not keep your dog in a crate at home, this skill will help your dog in several ways:
- If your dog ever goes to the vet, they will need to be in a crate.
- If you travel with your dog, you should consider crating them when you’re out of your hotel room.
- Introducing a new dog to your home should done with a crate to protect both the dog and your house.
- Dogs should be introduced to other dogs / pets in a household using a crate.
- Dogs should ride in a crate when in a car.
- Traveling by plane? Your dog will be crated.
- ….. and there are countless more reasons!
Obviously crate training is done most easily with a young puppy, but I have trained dogs of all ages to enjoy and accept being in a crate using the methodology in this course. I really believe that all the answers you have will be answered once you finish this course. The 90+ minutes you’ll spend learning these simple steps will set you and your dog up for a lifetime of successes!

I really enjoyed the videos. very educational and great tips. If you are unsure about taking the course, just do it, it is really worth it. I trained my dogs in a crate for the first 10 months of their lives. Not anymore because they don’t break anything and are good in the house. but after seeing these videos, I think I’m going to teach them their crate again. to have a nice place for themselves, where they can relax and enjoy being. and for my peace of mind knowing that they are safe and happy. also for structure. One of my dogs hangs on to me too hard and that is sometimes not always good. thank you Robert!

Great Mini Course. Though I have watched the other videos with Jimmy and other puppies, this Course is the frosting on the cake. I really like the fact that I can go back and review the videos from time and tweak my notes and refresh memory. A Great idea. I was definitely heartened to hear that you have become frustrated at times. As I have for instance “get your ass in there” and slammed the door. Then stop and think “Robert would not approve”.
