RECALL Training with Corrections

RECALL or the COME command is among the VERY most important things we teach our dogs.  This session revisits Truffle and works on some issues with the recall, namely distractions. We will start to introduce fair corrections and avoid common mistakes.

The online dog training lesson points out what are some common mistakes when other dogs are around and our dog has a reactivity issue with them.  I’ll show you how to fix the problems by just fixing some basic handling issues.

To build a solid recall we need to set the dog up for success.  We do that through these simple steps:

1. Show the dog what we want.
2. Reward him for doing it.
3. Correct him when he fails and guide him to success.
