A couple of people have asked for an update about Bark ‘n Bitches, which was featured in one of Robert’s podcasts. For those unfamiliar with the case, Bark ‘N Bitches is a combination retail store and dog adoption location. The dogs for adoption were allowed free run of the store. There was an unfortunate incident in November, 2019 where an employee picked a dog up and threw it across the room in order to break up a fight between a large and small dog (it was the larger dog that was thrown). The incident was videotaped and ended up on national news. The employee was either fired or voluntarily resigned, but all 17 dogs were seized by animal control. B ‘n B went into a protracted battle to get the dogs back. In February 2020, they announced that they were closing the shop. They have since reopened, but are now foster based. Here is a statement on their website:

“Here at Bark n’ Bitches, dogs are our passion. Bark n’ Bitches opened in 2006 as the first ever HUMANE Pet Shop.

If you have ever had the experience of coming into our store, you know that we are simply crazy for dogs! Times have changed and so have we. We are still fueling our passion and helping dogs in need. We are continuing our mission and are now 100% foster based.”
