Picking up a new puppy in a couple of weeks. The beeeder has suggested the Nuvet Plus supplement. I was just curious if anybody used it and could verify it is legit. I’ve seen negative reviews online that suggest it is a scam. Apparently certain breeders put use of this product in their purchase contracts. If not used they will not guarantee puppy health. Idk. Thoughts?

If feeding a good balanced food it should already have everything the pup needs. If 1/4 or more of the diet is homemade, raw or otherwise, then I would look to add supplements. If it is a giant breed I would be careful not to over-promote bone growth. Don’t really have an opinion on Nuvet. Good luck!!

I give it to all 3 of my golden retrievers. It really made a difference to the older ones coat and skin issues. It was recommended by the breeder of my second dog. When I got the 3 one I gave it to her as well. I can actually see a difference in her coat as well.

I’ve never used it but a giant dog (short lifespan) breeder near me offers an extended health warranty on their puppies if you give one you buy the supplement. If I recall it’s basically a good discount on another puppy if yours passes within 5 years or something like that.
