After 5 weeks of training my dog will not sit on command. It is not food motivated at all.

Is it possible to successfully adopt two puppies at once (siblings or not) and raise them into balanced, happy dogs? We had 2 rescue dogs and both passed within the last 2 years at ages 10 1/2 and 11 1/2. They bonded with us but also loved the companionship of one another. We got each as a puppy, adopted 6 months apart. Wondering how to do this again after so many years. Thank you.

Hello, I have a 13 month old male GSD. He is aggressive towards my granddaughter who is 8 years old, how can I train him to accept her? We see her every two weeks. Thank you very much. I really appreciate your response.

Beginning initial conditioning with my female Malinois. The Ecollar technologies collar has the option of tone or vibrate (separate from the stimulation). I plan on using one of these as precursor to stimulation (in the hope that one of them will be all I need as time goes on. Do you have a preference as to which I should use? What are the advantages/disadvantages to the 2 options?

Robert, I was wondering if you provide one on one training. I live in Whittier California about 30 minutes from Los Angeles. I need training with my dog Wally. I bought Wally as trained protection dog. Wally behaves well when I am around but we can never leave him alone. He destroys things and  misbehaves.

I love this dog and I want to continue to work with him. I just believe that he needs further training and I am not qualified to continue growing his skills. I know that one on one

Hi Robert! I have a 10 year mix! I got him in college & I was more inconsistent with training. I did take him to obedience as a puppy. In the past year I’ve been more focused on training practice again. The issue is jumping on couches and beds. I let him in the past and now I’m trying to keep him off and on his beds. He never jumps up when I’m home but will when I’m gone. If he didn’t understand why would he do it only when I’m gone? Do you have tips to help I know my inconsistency didn’t help.

I’ve made huge progress with recall. I can now recall my BC off lead off chasing a prey animal. When she is very distracted she does stop chasing when I recall her, but she comes back in a strange way.She runs half circles as if she was herding while moving closer to me.Then she runs towards me but with her head still turned in the opposite direction and sometimes runs into me.Should I correct this way of returning?I don’t want to punish her for coming but I worry about her inability to disengage.

Hello Robert and Janet. I have a 7 month old Mountain Feist ( a small 25 lbs dog used for hunting squirrels ). In the mornings we train then feed after that I put the dog on her dog bed next to my desk with a place command. She falls asleep normally in 5 to 10 minutes. After she wakes up normally over an hour later do I need to be still enforcing the place command? Or is okay to just let her get up, get a drink, go to door etc. Thank you for your time.

I have a 1-year border collie & aussie mix and every time we are about to go for a walk she starts to bite on a leash and continues doing that in a corridor. She also does it after we deal with a distraction (e.g. when I take her away from another dog). I give her commands (leave it, heel, etc.) but when emotions are high, it doesn’t work. I also try to calm her down (e.g. with a lick pad) before we go for a walk. However, she is not particularly food driven and often ignores the food.

Been working on stimming my anatolian when the neighbors dog comes by. Worked great and he started ignoring the dog. I asked the neighbor to let me know if he starts barking again since I can’t always see them. I took off the ecollar but neighbor didn’t communicate and a few weeks later he’s back to trying to attack the dog. Now when I put the ecollar on he is calm by the dog, but without the ecollar he still barks at them. How do I properly fade out the ecollar so that he stays calm by the dog?

Hello Robert, greetings from Switzerland. Inspired by your videos I started to play tug for bonding and as a reward with my female 8 month old malinois mix. I got her at 15/01/2022. I introduce new commands like heel by luring with treats and change to the tug when she has understood which behavior I demand from her. Everything fine but she always wants to grab the tug or the ball with rope at the handles or the rope. Is there a way to teach her to take the tug or ball the right way? Thanks.

I just got a male mal puppy last wednesday. He’s a really high drive and energetic dog. I definitely know that mals bite a lot and intensely. However, these days he always tries to bite my feet and bite it really hard. It was bleeding. Every time when he got into a really crazy mode, it’s impossible to stop him. I tried to distract him and stop moving but all these don’t work. Do you have any suggestions for me when he gets too crazy?

My hubby was impressed with the progress I was making with our male GSD pup that he brought home a poodle/shep mix. Unfortunately my husband does not speak dog. It isn’t necessary to tell you what I am going thru been 3 months now. Both are perfectly crate trained. I give crate “intermissions” throughout the day when I am not working and I take them on trails separately on my days off and they walk well. I think instead of getting a divorce I will just get a third crate for hubby. Your thoughts.

How can I get an old dog trained to be obedient and break a habit of constant affection and eating? I adopted a 7 year old golden retriever, his previous owner over fed him and constantly pet him. He’s 125lbs and is extremely an IOU’s and demanding of love and affection…and food. I need help teaching him to “come”, heel, and other commands, and especially to break the extremely bad habits created by his previous human and get him healthy and obedient. Thank you in advance!

Naimbag Nga Aldaw Robert and Janet. I will be getting an 8 week old female Mal puppy. The pup is the sole female among 8 pups. The breeder has a good record. But standards here aren’t as high as in the US. Is there anything I should ask the breeder to do/not to do within her 1st 8 weeks of life so that there’ll be less problems for the pup’s transition to us and her overall well being when she grows up? Like the pup’s separation anxiety, fearfulness, aggressiveness, etc. Diyos ti Ag Ngina.

My Dutchie has a negative view of his crate. First he has bad separation anxiety. And the crate was punishment. He will go in, but when door is shut he goes berserk. It’s big and dark. Should I get a new open crate and start training again. I’ve never had a dog with this level of anxiety or dislike of crate. Idea?

Hi Robert and Janet, 7 month old female GSD, has been good in crate. However, recently she started barking in crate when neighbors’ dogs barking, or, when someone/friends come to backyard (her crate facing the backyard). Do I correct this? if yes, how? what do I do when she barks in crate? Thank you!
