Unclear about a situation: Say I am placing the dog into a sit, and have to move to across the ring for a recall, in a test. What is the sequence to recall the dog?

In the CGC test with AKC, there is an exercise of stay the recall. Robert never teaches this and was wondering how I could perform this task, I feel I have made a mistake in my training to recall out of a stay or down or sit.
