I spoke to Robert yesterday and pushed for a member lesson on Resource Guarding. I also think it’s an important topic for Robert to address in a specific video as it seems he has not done so yet. He has answered it a few times in member Q&A’s before but a dedicated video is needed.

Just wanted to let you know and I’ll use your post as material for him to look through in making sure he is covering different aspects of resource guarding.

Is she unsupervised when she is doing this? Or she does this no matter what in front of you?

At 5 months, my GSD didn’t get to do what he wanted around the house. If I wasn’t next to him then he would be in the crate. I also had him on a 15ft leash tied to a heavy couch so he could roam around a bit but I also had my eye on him from my office at the same time.

So he never developed bad habits. If I saw him doing something like chewing on a shoe, I would tell him NO and give him a bite toy instead.

Now he’s almost 2 and I can leave him around the house because he is more mature and behaved.

No issues with any types of questions. The forum is meant for members to have any kind of discussion. Hopefully there is someone experienced in the matter to help.

That’s just off the top of my head. From what I’ve seen, a trained dog bites because the situation has turned into something more serious and can sense the owners stress and body language has changed from positive to something is wrong.

A dog should always be neutral around everyone.

We did test out sending an email once a week when the lessons would go up. Soon I will turn on the ability to send a direct notification to the groups. But I will probably go with the email option because most members who are frequent know that a new lesson is uploaded every Wednesday.

In regards to the AMA notifications. This is done twice a week and a very small amount of members submit questions. I don’t want to spam all members else with notifications and/or emails about it since most members don’t use it.

But I will look for some way to notify just the people who submit questions.
