I would push the treat into his mouth when he bites hard to get the treat. This will deter him from doing it again.

I also agree with Ben. Desensitizing the dogs little by little. I’d start with just walking the dogs outside with minimal people/cars/activities initially. Then slowly and gradually go to areas with a little bit more activities (a tad busier street then where they’re used to.) Ans so on.

Hi Kenza,
Choke collar:
I would try using a prong collar instead. Make sure you watch Robert’s video on this.

Reactive towards other people:
When going outside for a walk, try to go where there aren’t any people, for the mean time, if possible. If not, try doing it the farthest away from people where Bonez won’t react to them. Then gradually lessen the distance, to desensitize him.
Biting your hands:
What Robert advises is when your dog has a hard mouth, try pushing the treat towards him. This will help a lot.

As for the part where he walks away when he doesn’t get the treat, try being more animated when luring him. Also do the training. luring before he eats his meal.
Growling at you:
I think he is trying to dominate you. Be more “alpha-like” so to speak and correct him when he growls at you. For the being touched part, try to touch different parts of his body and make them a non issue. Reward him when he’s calm when you touch him.
At 7 months, it’s normal for your pup to be mouthy still. -
Hi Lois, I was about to post a new topic here because I’m also looking into what else I could train my 1yr 7mo old Mal. I have limited space and only am able to bring him to a larger are during weekends. I entertain him by redoing all of his learned commands whenever possible and also making him search his favorite ball. It’s fun for him and doesn’t take much from me physically.
That said, I’d also ask our other members here what else they would suggest to further develop his agility, physical awareness, etc. in a limited space. -
thank you very much

Thank you. Would you happen to know the video link?

Thank you Ed. I will try that next time my friend brings over his puppy. I might go to his place once in a while, if I have extra time, for continuity. I also noticed his puppy’s hips. I think there’s some problem with them. I asked him to go have them looked at by a vet the soonest possible time.

The comment I made isn’t intended to take anything away from Robert’s teachings. I feel that he has the most effective, clear way of explaining how to train our dogs hands down.
But, that being said, I think it’s a good idea to gather more information out there as long as it doesn’t conflict with the path what you have started with your dogs.
